All the Trees, All the Birds, and This Thing Called Life

Hola,

What is with this random cold weather? It was actually starting to feel somewhat like summer was on it's way back from vacation and now these past couple of days have been dreary and cool. I like them, but it is still kind of random. Yes, I'm really talking about the weather. I'm boring. Whatever.

I haven't really been up to much of anything as of late. I've been listening to a lot of Tegan and Sara - The Con-, Dance Gavin Dance, and as of today, Jimmy Eat World. None of which I own, but have been loaned to me by my super awesome buddies. Thanks guys =) It is a odd combination of music, I'm aware, but it's been an odd week so far. I went to a loverly CSO concert with some of my besties on Friday, and walked around downtown again on Monday. It's not too shabby, I even saw a couple of familar faces and some cool kids.

I don't really have a lot to say, I just felt like posting. Sorry to disappoint those of you who were under the illusion that this blog was going to contain something interesting/exciting. Perhaps next time.

Good day,
-Katelyn

Platform 9 and 3 Injuries

For the record, this made my day so I'm sharing it with you kids (whether you share my amusement to the same degree or not). =) It seriously makes me chuckle.

That's some hardcore Harry Potter fandom right there.

Cheers,
-Katelyn

p.s. They could at least capitalize Dumbledore's name! Have some respect, people. He's amazing, magical, and loved by all. That is all.

Take the Hinges Off the Door

It's Monday and everything starts new once more. I'm trying to calm down and just focus on taking one step at a time, life-wise. I really struggle with getting overwrought and stressed out. Anxiety can easily make the simplest of things into complex beasts. All we can do sometimes is just breathe.

That's my little thought of the day. I don't really feel like going anymore into it, so there you have it, folks. I figured it was about time I made a list, so despite the incorrect day of the week, here's my 10 Things:

10 Things I love..Monday!

1.
I like Polaroids

2.
Oooh dino shaped sandwich.

3.
Disney classics redone..hipster style. They just amuse me

4.
Hanging with the homies/eating food

5.
Hipster kitty. So snazzy

6.
Chillin' with friends

7.
Eisley! (Technically, I believe they were Moss Eisley in this photo)

8.
Adele. Need I say more?

9.
Loverly. I want a tree growing in my living room.

10.
It's a good thought. I'm still working on it, though

I wish everyone luck with this new week. It'll be over soon enough. Don't forget to breathe!

The Moon is a Cold Light

Well hello there, friends

Spring break is over. Sad sauce. My family went on a cruise and it was sunny and all-around a loverly trip. Alas, I'm still pale, but I enjoyed myself and the endless supply of food. I'm glad to be back home and that I get to see my homies again. and my dog. I missed her too.

Some things I've been into recently include the phenomenal artist that is Bon Iver. Good Golly. Such beautiful music. His album For Emma, Forever Ago is quickly becoming a favorite. He has simple, acoustic songs that are just really raw and sincere. The album has a folksy feel to it. His voice is great. I suggest you give it a listen.

I'm not really sure what this new semester has to offer. Maybe I shouldn't be thinking about it too hard and just let it happen. It's difficult, sometimes, to not try and anticipate and/or over-analyze what the future might throw one's way. It's a tricky balance between being prepared and being overwrought. School is stressful and that cannot be helped, but it's good to apply a little yin and yang, outlook-wise, every so often. I'm not saying that I ever really do this, because I definitely lean more towards being anxious and high-strung, but it's the thought that counts, right? =)

Pictures? Okay, here you go...thanks weheartit.com

See you next time,
